Winter finally arrives

Well, it’s taken a while but winter has arrived properly at the workshop this morning.  The workshop stove is stoked and roaring.  Nice view though, looking east in the direction of Dunbar.

Still, it doesn’t quite rival Bruegel’s The Hunters in the Snow, painted in 1565.  One of a series by the Flemish master depicting the seasons.  This masterpiece is surely one of the greatest evocations of country life in deep winter.
